As part of effort to appreciate God for his goodness, the chairman of the Niger – Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, has completed the construction of a 1,000 – congregational seat capacity for his hometown.
Speaking at the dedication ceremony of the Church in Akparabong, Ndoma-Egba revealed that ” growing up I made a promise to God to build Him a church if He made me a man. He made me a man ages ago but He has thankfully been patient with me to this day, he said.
“Mercifully, I am now able, with the help of my supportive wife, to now keep my side of the bargain. Not only is the church we have been building since 2003 now ready, Akparabong my hometown where the church is located is now a full fledged Parish.”
His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Abuja, led dozens of clergy men to dedicate the Church, ‘Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish.
Ndoma-Egba revealed that he made the promise to God at age 11 and the Church projected started in 2003, he said.
Archbishop Onaiyekan, said the Church of God should be a sign and instrument of what great things God is doing in our world.
He said the Church should also be a sign of the goodness of God so that anybody who has seen the Church will say this is how God’s community should be. He enjoined Christians to live by faith and charity, and also used the occasion to pray for peace and prosperity in Nigeria.
