Thugs invade Nigerian Senate’s hallowed chambers, snatch mace

Aftermath of the suspension of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege (Delta), thugs broke into the plenary of the Nigerian Senate on Wednesday morning and carted away  the mace, the symbol of authority of the Red Chambers in Abuja.

The armed men stormed the Senate at about 11. 20 am along with suspended Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and overpowered security agents.

Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu,who presided in the absence of Senate President Bukola Saraki had to be calming down senators in the ensuing melee.
