[dropcap]A[/dropcap]t least nine persons were killed in Logo Local Government area of Benue state in the early hours of Saturday in a fresh attack by herdsmen.

The attack comes days after Benue experienced its deadliest Herdsmen attack that killed dozens of innocent villagers.

Former Local government chairman of Logo local government area, Mr Kester Kyenge, confirmed the incident to Per Second News over the phone.

He said it was a twin attack and so far nine persons were killed leaving dozens with various degrees of injuries.

Amid fears of resurgence after a deadly attack last week the Police assured the people of protection, rather the lethal herdsmen-inspired attacks seems to be increasing.

The gruesome attack has also been confirmed by the state Police Public Relation Officer, Moses Yamu.
