Per Second News—President Muhammadu Buhari is recuperating at a London hospital contrary to allegations that he is on life support, says National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
“We are glad to inform you that President Muhammadu Buhari is recovering in a very robust manner.
“We hope he takes it easy and when he comes back, I have no doubt at all that we will have a new and active period of activities.’’
Oyegun gave the assurance in Abuja while speaking with newsmen at the end of a meeting between the party`s National Working Committee (NWC) and state governors elected on the party’s platform.
He, however, said only the president’s doctors abroad could decide when he would be fit to return to the country.
A presidency source in a phone conversation with Per Second News Friday said that “In fact, doctors are happy to report that all of his vitals look great.”
The 74-year-old ex-military general, has been on medical leave for more than 14 weeks this year. He is currently in the U.K. receiving treatment for an undisclosed medical condition since May 7.
An audio recording released during the Eid-el-fitr was the first public statement Buhari has made since leaving for the U.K. Since then, rumours about his health have swirled and the recording was reportedly released to challenge reports that Buhari was suffering a speech impediment and memory loss.
