Two Dead, Nine Injured As Police Foil Suicide Attack in Borno

The Nigerian Police in Maiduguri, Borno, Northern part of the country on Thursday says it has foiled a suicide bomb attack at the Alkaramti area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Joseph Kwaji said in a statement in Maiduguri that two female suicide bombers were neutralized by security operatives.

He said that the suicide bombers were intercepted by security operatives when they tried to infiltrate the area.

According to him, the attackers detonated the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) strapped to their body and killed themselves.   Kwaji added that nine other persons also sustained injuries in the attack.

“They hurriedly detonated their IEDs strapped to their bodies killing themselves and injuring nine others,” he said.
