The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has given approval for the remains of late Alhaji Aminu Dantata, billionaire, prominent Kano businessman and philanthropist, to be buried in the Holy land of Madinah.

According to a family, the arrangements are ongoing for his Janazah to be held tomorrow in the Holy Prophet’s mosque.

“We are grateful to the Saudi authorities for granting this approval,” said a family member.

“It was Alh. Dantata’s long-term wish to be laid to rest in the Holy Prophet’s city of Madinah, and we are hopeful that his dream will finally be fulfilled.”

The family has expressed gratitude to Allah for this blessing and prays that He accepts the prayers of all well-wishers, forgives him, and showers him with His mercy.

“May Allah grant him Jannatul-Firdaws and forgive his shortcomings,” the family member added.

Dantata began his journey in commerce at a young age, encouraged by his father to understand the value of money and the importance of enterprise.

Born into one of Nigeria’s most influential business families, Dantata’s entrepreneurial spirit was shaped by his family’s legacy.

By the time he was 24, he was already representing the family business in Sokoto as a district manager.

Under his guidance, the family enterprise, Alhassan Dantata & Sons, diversified into various sectors, including banking, petroleum, agriculture, real estate, construction, manufacturing, and finance.

He later founded Express Petroleum & Gas Company Ltd and played a key role in establishing Jaiz Bank, the first non-interest bank in Nigeria.

Dantata’s business acumen and vision earned him a reputation as a shrewd entrepreneur, and his legacy continues to inspire future generations.
