Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared that he and his wife, Chioma, are putting on hold plans to have more children.

According to him, their current focus is on maintaining a healthy family balance and supporting Chioma’s entrepreneurial dreams.

The singer made this revelation during a recent episode of Ride Along With Darryl, a show that began trending on Saturday.

As a father of five, Davido expressed that expanding their family isn’t something he’s considering at the moment.

“I don’t want more children now,” Davido said plainly. “Me and my wife are taking a break. She needs to get out to work.”

The music star explained that Chioma is eager to pursue her own ambitions after dedicating herself to raising their children.

Chioma, according to Davido, is looking forward to doing more outside the home, especially in the culinary business.

She has plans to open her own restaurant and also launch her own line of spices, which Davido says she’s deeply passionate about.

He added that after having three kids, Chioma deserves a break and the opportunity to chase her own dreams.

“I feel she deserves a couple of years off after having 3 kids,” Davido stated, highlighting her dedication to their family.

The superstar further revealed that Chioma is now spending more time overseas, as she prepares to launch her business ventures.

Her goal, he said, is to start with the spices and eventually branch out.

“She is here mostly now, so I think she is going to open something here first, both in Nigeria and here,” Davido explained.

He noted that Chioma wants to test her spice line locally before expanding into the global market.

According to him, the focus now is on getting her products into major stores across Africa and in the diaspora.

“Get the spices in some major stores worldwide, both in Africa and diaspora, everywhere, ’cause her food tastes amazing,” Davido proudly said.

The couple, who have faced their fair share of personal tragedy, welcomed a set of twins — a boy and a girl — in 2023.

This came just a year after they lost their first son, Ifeanyi, in a devastating drowning accident in 2022.

Despite the pain of their loss, Davido and Chioma are determined to build a strong future — both for their family and their individual aspirations.

For now, it’s pausing any baby plans and focusing on growth, healing, and new beginnings.
