Liverpool have officially announced that Mohamed Salah has signed a new contract, extending his stay with the club until 2027.

The 32-year-old Egyptian forward had been the subject of speculation regarding his future, but has now committed to the Reds for at least two more years.

The new contract ensures that Salah will remain a key part of Arne Slot’s plans moving forward, providing a boost of optimism for the champions-elect as they head into the summer.

Salah has been an integral part of Liverpool’s success since joining the club from AS Roma in 2017, and his new deal will see him play for the Reds for at least 10 seasons.

In announcing the deal, Salah underlined his desire to win trophies at Anfield, saying: “If I don’t believe that I would have not signed. I believe the team can win trophies.

“With the support of the fans and the city, and the support they always give us in the games, I believe we can win many trophies in the next years.”

The Egyptian forward has already made a significant impact at Liverpool, becoming the club’s third all-time top goalscorer and sixth in terms of all-time assists.

Salah’s statistics sum up his remarkable impact on the club, and his new contract ensures that he will continue to be a key player for Liverpool in the years to come.

“Of course I’m very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football,” he said after signing the new contract.

“It’s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it’s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.”

Salah also expressed his gratitude to the fans, saying: “I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together.

“Keep supporting us and we will give it our best, and hopefully in the future we’re going to win more trophies.”
