Tunisia’s CF Carthage, the two-time champions in Abuja on Tuesday confirmed its spot in the quarterfinals of the ongoing African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship after a convincing 3-0 victory over Sococim of Senegal in their round of 16 tie.

Persecondnews reports that the match saw CF Carthage dominate from start to finish, winning the sets 25-11, 25-17, and 25-20.

Sococim got off to a shaky start, committing several faults and trailing 8-1 early in the first set.

CF Carthage capitalized on this momentum, going on a “spiking killing spree” to lead 16-8.

Despite a late surge from Sococim, CF Carthage confidently took the set 25-11.

In the second set, Sococim showed improved energy, with some impressive diving saves to level the score at 11-11.

However, CF Carthage’s strong attacking play and a few unforced errors from Sococim allowed them to take the set 25-17.

The third set saw CF Carthage take an early lead, 13-4, but Sococim responded with a 13-8 run, forcing CF Carthage to call a timeout.

Sococim continued to push, closing the gap with a block and an ace.

Ultimately, CF Carthage’s experience and skill prevailed, taking the final points to win 25-20 and secure their quarterfinal spot.

Persecondnews reports that this win marks a significant achievement for CF Carthage, showcasing their dominance in the competition.

As they move forward to the quarterfinals, they will look to maintain their strong form and make a deep run in the tournament.
