President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of Mrs. Kemi Nandap’s tenure as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) until December 31, 2026.

According to Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy in a statement on Monday, the extension is a testament to Nandap’s exemplary leadership and the significant advancements made by the NIS under her guidance.

Nandap, who began her career in the NIS on October 9, 1989, was appointed Comptroller-General by President Tinubu on March 1, 2024, with an initial term set to expire on August 31, 2025.

Her tenure has been marked by notable improvements in border management, modernization of immigration processes, and national security measures.

The Nigerian leader commended Nandap for her outstanding leadership, urging her to continue dedicating herself to the Service’s strategic priorities, which align with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“I commend the Comptroller-General for her exemplary leadership and urge her to continue dedicating herself to the Service’s strategic priorities,” President Tinubu said.

The President also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the NIS in fulfilling its mandate to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity and promote safe, legal, and orderly migration.
