Breaking: Rivers Administrator Takes Office in Port Harcourt, Convenes Security Meeting

Ibok-ete Ibas, retired Vice Admiral and the newly appointed Sole Administrator for Rivers State, has arrived in the state to take up his duties.

He landed at the Port Harcourt International Airport at 11:25 am on Thursday, where he was warmly received by top government officials and security personnel.

As the former Chief of Naval Staff in Nigeria, Ibas is set to bring his wealth of experience to his new role, amid heightened political tensions in the state.

The administrator, accompanied by the state Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju and the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 16, immediately proceeded to Government House, Port Harcourt afterwards.

Ibas, who arrived at the Government House, was conducted round by some government officials.

He is currently holding a closed-door meeting with senior security officials, Federal Government delegation and state government officials.

Persecondnews recalls that Ibas was sworn in on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, by President Bola Tinubu.
