Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has praised the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, and his team for their efforts in stabilizing the country’s economy.
The commendation came during a courtesy visit by the minister and his management team on Tuesday, who were there to inform her about the upcoming 32nd Annual General Meeting of the African Export-Import Bank (AFREXIMBANK).
The meeting, scheduled to take place in Abuja from June 23 to 27, 2025, will bring together over 5,000 delegates, including Heads of State, government officials, and business leaders.
The event will feature high-level policy discussions, presentations, and side events focused on socio-economic development in Africa.
Tinubu expressed her readiness to host the spouses of Heads of Governments from African and other countries attending the meeting, highlighting the opportunity to showcase Nigeria’s best.
“This is one of the ways that God has just been blessing us in this administration with the quality of the people that are running the affairs of the country,” she said.
Edun reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to stabilizing the nation’s economy, making manufacture and export more competitive globally.
He noted Nigeria’s strong partnership with AFREXIMBANK and its commitment to fostering trade and economic growth for Africa and beyond.
“The competitiveness of the Nigeria economy, bold and courageous under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu over the last 20 months, the AFREXIM BANK has been reformed, it has been changed and it has been improved,” Edun said.
“We have a situation now where we have inflation stabilizing, food prices crashing down, petroleum prices coming down amongst other improvements in the economy.”
