In a significant move, President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for all the 774 National Health Fellows on completion of their fellowship.

The bold initiative is part of the National Health Fellows (NHF) programme, which President Tinubu established to empower young Nigerians and transform the country’s healthcare system.

According to an X post on Thursday by the Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, Mr. Sunday Dare, the NHF programme is designed to engage young Nigerian fellows in all the 774 local government areas, where they will serve as fiduciary agents to monitor and track primary healthcare centre development and performance.

The fellows will be equipped with the necessary tools to track the performance of Basic Health Care Provision Fund-supported health facilities across the nation.

President Tinubu noted the importance of the National Health Fellows, saying, “You are the pillars of our health system…”

The statement underscores the president’s faith in the abilities of young Nigerians to drive positive change in the country’s healthcare system, Dare said

The automatic employment approval is a testament to President Tinubu’s commitment to empowering young Nigerians and ensuring that they have opportunities to contribute to the country’s development.
