Akinwunmi Ishola, playwright, 78, dead

Foremost playwright and culture activist, Professor Akinwunmi Ishola has died at his Bolajoko Estate home in Ibadan on Saturday at the age of 78 years.

He is known for his writings, and his work in promoting, the Yoruba culture. He also broke into broadcasting, creating a production company that has turned a number of his plays into television dramas and films.
