Tottenham Hotspur responded to their recent cup exits with a much-needed 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.

James Maddison scored the only goal of the game, reacting quickest to Andre Onana’s parry of Lucas Bergvall’s shot to put Spurs ahead after 13 minutes.

The victory marked Tottenham’s first back-to-back Premier League wins since September, and it came as a welcome relief after their exits from the FA Cup and League Cup last week.

Manchester United, who were depleted due to injuries, had several chances to equalize, but Guglielmo Vicario made a brilliant save from Alejandro Garnacho in the second half to secure the win for Spurs.

The defeat was Manchester United’s 12th in 25 Premier League games this season, their most defeats from their first 25 matches of a league campaign since 1973-74, when they were last relegated from the top-flight.

Tottenham, on the other hand, will look to build on this momentum as they aim to climb the Premier League table.
