Arsenal missed the opportunity to close the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool to four points after being held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham at Craven Cottage.

The Gunners had a late goal disallowed, with Bukayo Saka’s header ruled out due to Gabriel Martinelli being offside during the build-up.

Raul Jimenez had given Fulham the lead against the run of play in the 11th minute, latching onto Kenny Tete’s ball down the line to fire past David Raya from a tight angle.

Arsenal struggled to create opportunities from open play in the first half, but they equalized six minutes into the second half through William Saliba’s well-worked corner kick routine.

Despite dominating the remainder of the match, Arsenal were unable to find a winner, with Fulham’s resolute defence holding firm.

The draw means Arsenal are six points behind leaders Liverpool, having played a game more.

Fulham, on the other hand, have taken five points from their last three games, including a 3-1 win against Brighton in midweek.

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, will be disappointed that his side were unable to take full advantage of Liverpool’s postponed game against Everton.

The Gunners’ best opportunities came from dead ball situations, with their goal coming from a well-worked corner kick routine.
