Again, President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling security threats and violent across the country.

Tinubu, who spoke at the closing of the 2nd African Military Games in Abuja on Saturday, commended the Armed Forces for successfully hosting the games.

He particularly praised their display of unity and camaraderie that transcends borders on the African continent.

Tinubu, who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, also acknowledged the military’s showcase of athletic prowess, collaboration, excellence, and collective determination to address shared challenges.

The event, held at the Moshood Agboola Stadium in Abuja, demonstrated the military’s commitment to unity and cooperation among African nations.

Tinubu’s commendation comes as a significant boost to the military’s efforts in promoting regional cooperation and addressing security challenges.

The successful hosting of the 2nd African Military Games is a testament to Nigeria’s commitment to regional security and cooperation, he remarked.

“The games we have witnessed are a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we unite, not just as soldiers, but as guardians of a shared destiny.

“This platform offers opportunities to exchange ideas and explore innovative solutions to our challenges,” Tinubu said.

He underscored the importance of unity and the strength that comes from collaboration, adding that events like the African military games promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Tinubu promised in his capacity as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States to pursue stabilising solutions across the continent, describing it as a duty owed to the people.

He called for deeper ties among nations and a stronger sense of camaraderie among military personnel to achieve success.

“The spirit of collaboration exemplified by this edition of the African Military Games is significant, coming 22 years after the inaugural event. I commend the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and the OSMA President, Major General Abdullahi Maikano, for their leadership and dedication in making this event a success.”

He also congratulated delegates from participating countries for their sportsmanship and professionalism.

“You have shown not only your military expertise but also your extraordinary abilities as sportsmen and women.”
