Breaking: CJN summons Rivers CJ, orders probe of judges on conflicting rulings

Following conflicting rulings in political cases currently causing crisis in Rivers State, a panel of the National Judicial Council (NJC) has been inaugurated to probe the judges of the federal and state high courts involved.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun gave a marching order on Monday that the probe report should be submitted this week at a meeting with the panel in her office.

According to the order, all judges involved in the multiple cases arising from the unending political crisis between Gov. Siminalayi Fubara and his estranged godfather, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesome Wike, have now been summoned by the probe panel.

The panel, headed by a former Justice of the Court of Appeal (name withheld), has two heads of courts as members.

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court has also been summoned and he will be questioned on Tuesday.
