Nigeria’s Flying Eagles secured a thrilling 3-1 comeback victory over Niger Republic’s Junior Mena in the 2024 WAFU B U20 Championship semi-final.

Niger Republic took an early lead, but Nigeria dominated thereafter, scoring three impressive goals. Clinton Jephta equalized in the 35th minute with a stunning strike from outside the box, following a slick passing sequence.
Jephta struck again in the 58th minute, putting Nigeria ahead. Goalkeeper Ifeanyi Harcourt made crucial saves to maintain the advantage.
Olalekan Alonge sealed the win with a stoppage-time goal.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, praised the team’s fighting spirit and improvement throughout the tournament.
“We believe they have what it takes to defend their title against Ghana in the final.”
