Just in: APP wins 22 out of 23 chairmanship seats in Rivers LG poll

The Action People’s Party (APP) has won 22 chairmanship positions out of 23 in the Rivers State Local Government election held on Saturday, October 5.

Justice Adolphus Enebeli, Chief Electoral Officer of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), announced the election results in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Saturday.

Enebili suspended the announcement of the results in the Etche Local Government Area while the results collation was still ongoing.

He stated that the results for Etche LGA will be declared alongside those of the 319 councillorship seats at a later date.
