The fastest man in the world in 2024, Jamaican Kishane Thompson, put on a spectacular show on Saturday to win heat 1 of the men’s 100m with a time of 10.00s.

Thompson’s rapid times and sharp improvement make him a man to watch in Paris. At 23, the Jamaican seems to be getting better all the time after putting his injury problems behind him.

Thompson stormed to victory at the Jamaican National Championships with 9.77s on the clock, the world’s fastest 100m time in two years and the fastest by a Jamaican since Bolt’s retirement.

Persecondnews reports that the Jamaican demonstrated why everyone is talking about him, putting on a great display to win heat 1 of the men’s 100m competition.

Thompson was looking over his shoulders and still eased down in a time of 10.00s.

Ghana’s Benjamin Azamati qualified for the semifinals, clocking a time of 10.08s, while Cuba’s Reynaldo Espinosa came in 3rd in 10.11s.

Great Britain’s Jeremiah Azu was disqualified for a false start in the race.
