Updated: Paris 2024: Two Nigerians qualify for 100m men’s semis in their first-ever Olympic Games

Day 8 of the Olympics in France saw two Nigerians, Kanyisola Ajayi and Favour Ashe, qualify for the semifinals of the men’s 100m.

According to Persecondnews, both athletes are competing in their first-ever Olympic Games, and they successfully made it into the semifinals, becoming the top 27 athletes in the world.

Earlier, Ajayi put everyone on notice with his breathtaking performance to win heat 5 of the men’s 100m in a time of 10.02s (-0.3).

Ajayi defeated the Olympic champion, Italy’s Lamont Marcell Jacobs, who finished 2nd in 10.05s, with Ghana’s Abdul-Rasheed Saminu coming in 3rd in a time of 10.06s.
