President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over a closed-door meeting of the Progressives Governors Forum at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting, which commenced at 1:01 p.m., comes on the heels of plans by some Nigerians to embark on nationwide demonstrations from August 1–10 against the prevailing economic difficulties.

Persecondnews reports that the ‘EndBadGovernance’ protests, which have garnered substantial online support, remain shrouded in mystery as their organizers continue to maintain anonymity, with no group publicly claiming ownership.

The meeting follows an earlier Nigeria Governors’ Forum conclave on Wednesday night and comes after a last-minute cancellation of the National Economic Council meeting earlier scheduled for noon Thursday.

Attending the meeting were the National Security Adviser, Mr. Nuhu Ribadu, the Ministers of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun, and Budget & Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Bagudu.
