Afam Osigwe, SAN, elected NBA President

In other election results, Mr. Sabastine Anyia secured the position of 1st Vice President with 12,114 votes, outpacing Mr. Bartholomew Aguegbodo, who received 6,864 votes.

Following a successful online voting process, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has elected Mr. Afam Osigwe, a distinguished Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and former General Secretary, as the new NBA President.

The voting began at 12 a.m. on Saturday and ended at 11.59 p.m., with the live results for all positions presented at https://go.ecnba.org/results/.

According to the final tally at 12:40 am on Sunday, Osigwe emerged victorious with 20,435 votes, surpassing his nearest competitor, Chairman of the NBA-Institute of Continuing Legal Education Governing Council, Mr. Tobenna Erojikwe, who received 10,998 votes, and former NBA Lagos Branch Chairman, Mr. Chukwuka Ikwuazom (SAN), who secured 9,018 votes.

Osigwe will succeed Mr. Yakubu Maikyau (SAN), the outgoing president.

In other election results, Mr. Sabastine Anyia secured the position of 1st Vice President with 12,114 votes, outpacing Mr. Bartholomew Aguegbodo, who received 6,864 votes.

Meanwhile, Mr. Bolatumi Animashaun emerged victorious as the 2nd Vice President by a significant margin, garnering 26,534 votes and defeating Mr. Pius Oiwoh, who secured 11,121 votes.

In the elections, Mrs. Zainab Garba secured the 3rd Vice President position with 23,550 votes, surpassing Mr. Michael Olorunmola’s 13,897 votes.

Mr. Mobolaji Ojibara won the General Secretary role with 25,713 votes, outpacing Mr. Abdulwasiu Alfa’s 11,730 votes.

Additionally, Mr. Henry Ehi emerged as the Assistant General Secretary with a significant margin, receiving 28,552 votes and defeating Mr. Oluwaseun Aka, who garnered 8,317 votes.

Mrs. Blessing Udofa-Poromon secured the treasurer position with 17,998 votes, defeating her closest rival, Mr. Mbamala Chukwuemeka, who garnered 9,825 votes.

Also, Mr. Nyada Auta won the Welfare Secretary position with 18,369 votes, defeating Mr. Oaikhena Osagie, who scored 12,855 votes.

Mrs. Bridget Edokwe emerged victorious as the publicity secretary, securing 19,542 votes and outpolling Mr. Charles Ajiboye, who received 10,989 votes.

Also, Mrs. Ebiere Ekpese won the Assistant Publicity Secretary position in a landslide, garnering 26,955 votes and surpassing Mr. Lawrence Ayewa’s 9,690 votes.
