Breaking: Edun submits new minimum wage options, associated costs to Tinubu

Mr. Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, has submitted the projected cost implications of implementing the new national minimum wage to President Bola Tinubu.
Edun, accompanied by Mr. Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and National Planning, presented President Tinubu with the cost implications of the new minimum wage in his office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.After the meeting with the President, the Minister of Finance confirmed the submission of the report and stated that “there is no cause for alarm.”

Persecondnews recalls that Pres. Tinubu gave a 48-hour ultimatum on Tuesday to submit the cost implications of a new minimum wage during a meeting with the government negotiation team on the new minimum wage led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume.

Other team members at the meeting included the Ministers of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Labour, and Information, as well as the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited.
