“While Team Nigeria secured a commendable second place overall, behind Egypt, it is your outstanding accomplishments and relentless pursuit of excellence that truly captured our hearts,’ said Gumel in the statement.

According to NOC, the team had demonstrated unwavering dedication, resilience, and the true spirit of sportsmanship throughout the competition.

“We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the athletes, coaches, and Nigerian sports journalists who have worked harmoniously to ensure the success of the Games.

“Your tireless efforts, commitment, and cooperation have contributed to the seamless organisation and smooth execution of the events, leaving an indelible mark on the Games’ history.

“We must also acknowledge and thank the government, particularly the Minister of Sports, Sen. John Owan Enoh, for his relentless support and commitment to ensuring the welfare of the athletes and officials.
