The State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Hakeem Amode, announced the release of the PDP chairman in a terse statement issued about 1.15 a.m. on Monday.

After four days in the kidnappers’ den, the Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Philip Aivoji, has regained freedom.

On January 25, unidentified gunmen abducted Aivoji on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Aivoji and some other party chieftains were abducted at the Ogere area of the expressway while returning from the party’s Stakeholders’ Zonal Caucus meeting convened by Oyo State Gov. Seyi Makinde, held in Ibadan, the state capital.

The State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Hakeem Amode, announced the release of the PDP chairman in a terse statement issued about 1.15 a.m. on Monday.

“Lagos State PDP Chairman has been released by the kidnappers.”Hon. Philip Olabode Aivoji, the Lagos State PDP Chairman, is free at last after 4 days in the kidnappers’ den.

“We use this opportunity to appreciate your prayers, most importantly because God’s mercies was visible all the way. Thank you all for your concerns and prayers,” the statement obtained by PersecondNews said.
