N50bn of N61.55bn FCT supplementary budget released, Wike reveals

The Federal Government has released N50 billion out of the N61.55 billion FCT’s supplementary budget, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has disclosed.

According to the minister, the funds released is for the completion of ongoing projects in the territory.

Wike, who disclosed this on Thursday during an inspection of projects in the nation’s capital, said the ministry is ready to collaborate with security agencies to install closed-circuit television cameras in the FCT to enhance security.

Persecondnews reports that the House of Representatives, had on December 1, 2023 approved N61.55 billion FCT supplementary budget following the passage of the 2023 Supplementary Appropriation Bill for the FCT.

Out of the total approved sum, N12.90 billion is for overhead costs while the balance of N48.65 billion is for capital expenditure.
