Tinubu confirms Mrs Adepoju as Comptroller-General of Immigration Service

President Bola Tinubu has confirmed the appointment of Mrs Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju as the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).

Her decoration would be announced in due course.

The cheering news of her confirmation was announced to the staff at the NIS headquarters during the Comptroller General’s parade on Wednesday.

She said: “You may also wish to know, that through the grace of God and by the benevolence of the present government, I have been confirmed as a substantive Comptroller General of Immigration.”

Mrs Adepoju, who was the most senior Deputy Comptroller General, was appointed in acting on May 29, 2023 by President Bola Tinubu following the retirement of CG, Isah Idris Jere.

Adepoju also announced that some members of the top management team who wrote promotion exam have been elevated to Deputy Comptrollers-General and would soon be decorated.

Adepoju also called on officers to observe a minute silence in memory of members of staff who died recently in the line of duty while on their way back to Abuja from an official trip to Kano State and prayed that the Almighty God should rest their souls in peace.

The CGI announced that the parade was dedicated to the memory of our fallen colleagues and assured that NIS would continue to support the bereaved families.

She said an Endowment Fund is being created by the Service for the upkeep of the families of the deceased.
