NNPC to Nigerians: Don’t panic, we have enough petrol supply for at least 30 days

1.8k

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL) says petrol scarcity in some parts of the country has been arrested with an advice to motorists and other users of the commodity not to engage in panic buying.

NNPCL attributed the recent fuel queues in Lagos and some locations to the reduced depot load-outs in Apapa, Lagos.

It said in a terse statement on Thursday that the root cause of the scarcity has since been arrested.

“We assure all Nigerians that there is ample supply with sufficiency of at least 30 days, distribution will normalize over the next couple of days.”

However, marketers have blamed the scarcity in Lagos and Abuja on the rise of dollars against the naira, hoarding of the commodity and bad roads.
