Speaking at the inauguration, the National Leader of the party and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike, called on party members to remain united and committed to the collective interest of the party as it prepares for the 2027 elections.
“Let us remain united, focused and committed to the collective interest of the party as we continue to strengthen our structures and prepare for the task ahead,” he said.

He cautioned party members against complacency and urged them to remain active in the party’s affairs.
“Some people sit down, relax and expect others to do the work for them. We must all take responsibility and contribute our quota to building a stronger party.”
Also speaking, the PDP National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, said the party’s 2027 strategy is anchored on renewed optimism and a commitment to presenting Nigerians with a “better alternative.”
“The PDP approach in 2027 will renew optimism, confidence and determination to conduct issue-based campaigns and present Nigerians with a credible alternative for effective governance.”
He said the party’s mission extends beyond electoral victory to providing solutions to the nation’s challenges.
“Our objective is not merely to win elections, but to offer visionary leadership capable of addressing the pressing challenges facing our nation and delivering tangible benefits to all Nigerians.”
Mohammed also expressed confidence in the electoral process and urged support for democratic institutions and peaceful political engagement.
“We encourage all stakeholders to continue supporting efforts aimed at consolidating our democracy, enhancing the credibility of future elections and promoting peaceful political engagement and adherence to the rule of law.”
Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Sen. Mao Ohuabunwa, urged members to put the party’s primaries behind them and look forward to the upcoming general elections.
“The primaries have come and gone. The time for contest is over. The time for unity, reconciliation and collective action is now. There must be no victors and no vanquished.”
Ohuabunwa also called for increased grassroots mobilisation and voter participation ahead of future elections.
“Electoral victory begins with voter registration. It is not enough to have supporters; they must be duly registered and eligible to vote.”
Austin Nwachukwu, Chairman of the PDP Forum of State Chairmen, Austin Nwachukwu, highlighted the party’s growing strength, citing recent defections into the PDP and the commitment of state chairmen to expand the party’s reach.
“In Jigawa State, for instance, the former IGP, Suleiman Abba, defected from APC to PDP. In Katsina State, over 3,000 people in total defected to PDP, among them three current serving House of Representatives members.
“The state chairmen have collectively decided to ensure that this party will be taken from greater heights to greater heights,” he said.
Nwachukwu said the forum remains committed to demonstrating that the PDP can provide purposeful leadership and effective governance.
“We are very mindful of the fact that this party must remain committed to showing Nigerians that the PDP is the only way Nigeria can continue to enjoy useful governance.”
Persecondnews reports that the NEC meeting was attended by the party’s presidential candidate, governors, members of the National Working Committee, members of the Board of Trustees, state chairmen, National Assembly members, candidates and other stakeholders from across the country.
