Rema’s triumph came after facing stiff competition from notable artists such as Asake, Kizz Daniel, Ruger, Omah Lay, and Burna Boy, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.

Singer Asake’s ‘Mr Money With The Vibe’ album emerged winner of the Album of the Year category at the same awards.

Asake’s project beat Burna Boy’s ‘Love, Damini, Rema’s ‘Rave & Roses,’ Omah Lay’s ‘Boy Alone,’ Victony’s ‘Outlaw,’ and Davido’s ‘Timeless,’ albums.

The singer joins three other acts who have won this category with their debut projects. They include Simi ‘Simisola,’ Asa ‘Asha,’ and Kizz Daniel ‘New Era.’

Asake was the night’s big winner at the 2023 Headies, winning Next Rated Artiste and Album of the Year for his 2022 record, ‘Mr Money with the Vibe’ — the first to clinch both prizes in the same year.
