Mr Mohammed Bello Koko, the Managing Director/CEO, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says the agency and the Naval authorities are consolidating on the Lagos Pilotage District.
To this end, a bipartite meeting was held on Tuesday, June 13 at the NPA headquarters in Marina, Lagos, to
generate fresh ideas towards sustaining the gains the Lagos Pilotage District has reaped from the nationwide collaborative arrangements between the Authority and the Nigerian Navy.
Persecondnews reports that at the meeting were the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral JD Akpan and the Fleet Commander West, Rear Admiral AO Olodude as well as the NPA team.
In addition to the acquisition and deployment of Security Patrol Boats, the NPA had deployed its partnership with the Navy to improve channel security in the eastern ports which has resulted in increased cargo traffic in Onne, Calabar and Warri Ports.
