Buhari apologizes over actions in office as he exits on May 29

Barely two weeks after Kano Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje tendered a public apology to the people of the state for his actions as he exit’s office on May 29, President Muhammadu Buhari has also apologised to Nigerians who may have been hurt by the actions of his administration.

They tendered the apology on Friday while hosting the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja community to his last Sallah celebration at the Presidential Villa.

The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Alhaji Mohammed Bello, had led top government officials in the Abuja community to Buhari.

Buhari also used the occasion to thank Nigerians for “tolerating” his eight-year administration.

“Thank you for tolerating me…I consider myself lucky to have been a Governor, Minister and Head of State and now President for two terms.

” I can’t wait to go home. I deliberately arranged to be as far away as possible from you people.

“I have got what I have asked and will quietly retire to my home town in Daura,” Persecondnews quotes him as saying.

Buhari said he would be retiring his country home in Daura, Katsina State, which he described as the extreme corner of Nigeria of about eight kilometers from Niger Republic.

Persecondnews recalls that Ganduje had apologised for the prevailing acute water shortage and its attendance hardship on Kano residents.

He blamed the scarcity on dilapidated facilities and said a multi-billion dollar contract has already been awarded to refurbish water plants in the state.

Ganduje regretted that the much-awaited water reformation project was however truncated with the advent of Covid-19 pandemic which incidentally prevented the contractors to mobilize men and equipment to site.
