Popular hip-pop musician, Habeeb Okikiola a.k.a Portable who was arraigned on Monday in Ogun court for assault, has been remanded in prison pending the perfection of his bail conditions.

After pleading not guilty to the three-count charge preferred against him before an Ifo Magistrate’s Court near Sango-Ota, Portable was granted bail in the sum of N300, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Magistrate A.S Shoneye said the offences were bailable and granted him bail with a bail bond of N300,000, in addition to two sureties, who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.

Persecondnews reports that for Portable’s inability to meet his bail conditions immediately, he was taken away to Ilaro prison and would be released as soon as he fulfilled the conditions.

Mr Adodo Destiny, Portable’s counsel, had urged the court to grant him bail, arguing that alleged offences were bailable.

Magistrate A.S Shoneye upheld the submission of the lawyer that the offences were bailable and granted him bail with bail bond of N300,000, two sureties who must reside within the jurisdiction of the honorable court.

He then adjourned the case until April 26 for trial.
