For unlawfully and forcefully cutting a toddler-girl’s hair and putting an incision at the back of her head in school, a teacher and a cleaner are facing trial at  an Oyo State Family Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan.

The head shavers did not also secure the consent of the baby’s parents, the court was told on Thursday.

The duo of Bukola Olajide, 39, a teacher and Dupe Akintewe, 55, a cleaner, serving at Sunshine Group of Schools in Oluyole area of Ibadan, is being tried for conspiracy, assault and breach of peace, Persecondnews reports.

The woman, however, entered a “not- guilty” plea when she was arraigned.

But the Prosecutor, Insp. Folake Ewe, insisted that both Olajide and Akintewe conspired to commit the offences.

“The two women allegedly assaulted the minor in the school by forcefully cutting her hair and causing her bodily harm.

“The defendants conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by cutting the girl’s hair and putting an incision there at the back of her head without the consent of her parents,” she told the court.

According to her, the offences contravened Sections 249 (d), 355 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State 2000.
