At NBA all-stars: Burnaboy, Rems, Tems shine, raise the bar for African music

From Burnaboy’s Las Las to Rema’s Calm Down and Tems’ Essence, Nigerian music stars didn’t only dazzled last night at the NBA all-star game, they equally illustrated essential difference between them and other music stars on the continent.

It was the NBA all-stars and the quartet of Burna, Tems, Rema took turns to wow thousands of guests at the game, putting Afrobeats on the global map once again and reassuring the world that Nigerian music stars are meant for the big stages.

The all-star game took place in Salt City Utah where superstars from both conferences squared up for a thrilling match to raise funds for charity.

Prior to Sunday, the trio had informed of their readiness to thrill spectators at the event, and one could tell from their individual performances that they lived up to the hype.

Burna Boy was introduced by Toronto Raptor’s Cameroonian star Pascal Siakam. The Nigerian star opened the show with an exciting performance of ‘Anybody’ while being backed up by his captivating Outsiders Band.

Performing next was Rema who thrilled spectators with his global record, ‘Calm Down’ , before delivering his new single, ‘Holiday’.

Tems dazzled listeners with her class and stage presence as she performed her hit singles, ‘Free Mind’ and ‘Higher’, before closing with ‘Essence’.

It was a night that showed the rest of the world the abundant talents in the Nigerian music industry.

Persecondnews reports that it was a night that gave the world a new reason never to underrate African music stars.
