Again, Vice-President Osinbajo presides over Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting got underway on Wednesday in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with Vice-President Osinbajo (SAN) presiding.

Persecondnews reports that this is the second time in two weeks that Osinbajo will be chairing the FEC meeting on behalf of the President, who departed for Dakar, Senegal, yesterday.

Buhari is scheduled to attend the 2nd edition of the Dakar International Conference on Agriculture.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the Council Chambers in its first Council meeting in January 2023  witnessed an unusual development with over 20 Ministers and their respective Ministers of State attending the FEC meeting physically.

Today’s FEC meeting has in attendance the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, and the Head of Service of the Federation, Dr (Mrs) Folashade Yemi-Esan.

Ministers in attendance include that of Chief Niyi Adebayo (Industry, Trade and Investment), Dr Osagie Ehanire (Health), Dr Chris Ngige (Labour and Employment), Babatunde Fashola (Works and Housing), Mohammad Abubakar (Agriculture), Hadi Sirika (Aviation), Rauf Aregbesola (Interior), and Umana Umana (Niger Delta Affairs).

Others are Sunday Dare (Youth and Sports), Abubakar Malami (Justice),  Mu’azu Sambo (Transportation),  Mohammed Abdullahi (Environment), Mrs Zainab Ahmed (Finance) , Mohammed Bello (FCT) and Mrs Pauline Tallen (Women Affairs).
