Nigerian singer and rave of the moment, Asake has penned an heartfelt apology and condolences to the family of the woman who died following a stampede at his London concert early on Friday.

The Metropolitan police had said four people were in critical condition after they were involved in a stampede that occurred outside of the Brixton O2 Academy, venue of the sold-out concert.

A mother of two was said to have died on Saturday while two others are still in critical condition.

Asake, in a statement released on Saturday evening, said the news of the death and others in critical condition left in him shock.

“I am devastated by the news that Rebecca Ikumelo, who was in a critical condition since Thursday, has sadly passed away. My sincerest condolences to her loved ones at this time.

“Let us please keep her family in our prayers. I have spoken to them and will continue to do so.

“I am overwhelmed with grief and could never have imagined anything like this happening, ” he wrote

Meanwhile, his sold-out show scheduled for next week in Nigeria will not be shifted despite the hiccups in London, Per Seconds News has learnt.

Asake, who is signed to Olamide’s YBNL records, has been on top of his game since the beginning of the year and has recorded success with his maiden album and back to back hit singles that made him Nigeria’s number one artiste on the music scene.

Despite the expensive tickets prices to his show that will come up at the Eko Hotels Convention Centre, many of his fans are said to be revving up to attend his debut concert in Nigeria.

Asake, it was gathered, would touch down in Nigeria any moment from now to put final touches to the event that will feature top Nigerian music artistes including Olamide, Patoranking and others.
