Exactly 14 days after two-week medical trip to UK, Pres. Buhari back in Abuja

After a two-week routine medical trip to London, the United Kingdom, President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday returned to Nigeria.

The President landed about 7:21pm at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, with top government officials and security chief at the airport to receive him.

The president’s latest UK trip is the third in the medical trips to the country this year.

Persecondnews reports that the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, had tweeted on his verified Twitter handle, @GarShehu: “President Muhammadu Buhari just landed in Abuja. Alhamdu Lillahi.”

He departed Abuja on Monday, November 1, 2022 after opening the retreat for top police officers in Owerri, the Imo capital and chaired an emergency meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) at the State House.

Among those who received Buhari are the Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, the Inspector General of Police, Mr Alkali Baba, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Mohammed Bello.

While in London, Buhari met with the British monarch, King Charles III at Buckingham Palace during with both leaders discussing diplomatic and trade relations.

He had told the monarch that he has no house anywhere outside Nigeria including the UK.
