A rail construction site engineer, simply identified as Ifeanyi, has met his untimely death carousing after a hard day’s job in Ogun State.

Ifeanyi was reportedly electrocuted in a liquor bar operated by a woman believed to be his lover, Ngozi Dibo.

According to Investigations, on Wednesday night of July 7, Ifeanyi had visited Ngozi, a single mother of two, and also put up with her at the bar, serving as shop and shelter.

But while she was sleeping because of her indisposition she heard Ifeanyi screening, a source said.

Alas, Ifeanyi, who was working at Agbado Railway Crossing, has been electrocuted, the source also said.

Persecondnews learnt that electricity had just been restored in the area and the deceased trying to plug a wire while quaffing his beer, was electrocuted in the process.

Ngozi, 39, said: “He was even the one who covered me with a piece of cloth. As he was inside, he picked a drink from my stock.

“I told him he had taken enough at work and should not drink more beer. He begged me and I slept off.

“Suddenly, I heard a noise which woke me up. It was around 12am and power was just restored.

” I saw him electrocuted while trying to plug a wire. I rushed out and called for help.”

Ogun Police Command said it has launched investigation into the incident to unravel the cause of Ifeanyi’s death.

Its spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said: “The woman (Ngozi) told us that the man was electrocuted but we will carry out investigation to verify her claim.”
