Following the imposition of a 24-hour curfew in Lagos State, policemen and soldiers, who were deployed to enforce it had shot at EndSARS protesters at Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos on Tuesday night to disperse them.

The hail of gunshots followed the refusal of the protesters, who had remained at the Plaza hours after the curfew had been declared to disperse.

According to reports and video clips from the scene, some protesters were hit by bullets.

Protesters who were shouting “they have killed people o, see dead bodies on the floor, scampered to safety in different directions.

Persecondnews had reported that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu imposed curfew at noon today, warning the protesters and citizens to get their homes latest 4.00pm, the effective time of the dusk-to-dawn curfew.

It was learnt that just before the hail of bullets by the security agents, some officials came to remove and disable the CCTV cameras at the gate so that there would not be records of the dastardliness.

In Ojoo in Akinyele council area of Ibadan, two protesters were reportedly shot dead several others were injured in a face-off with the  Police.

The two boys were killed when the protesters blocked the major roads linking Ojoo Roundabout and the Police, in an attempt to disperse them, allegedly fired bullets at them.

Others also sustained various degrees of injuries following the shooting, Persecondnews leanrt.

Angered by the incident, the protesters refused to carry the corpses of the victims, insisting that Police should come and evacuate them.

Contacted on phone, the State Police Command’s spokesman, SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, did not respond to his calls.

Meanwhile, as Persecondnews reporter was leaving the scene, the protesters were seen regrouping and trying to avenge the death of their colleagues by attempting to burn down the Ojoo Police station.

Major areas in Ibadan such as Challenge, Ring Road, Dugbe, Iwo Road and Mokola Roundabout were barricaded in what looked like a war zone.
