Ahead of the parade to mark Nigeria’s 60th Independence Anniversary on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020, the Federal Government says it has beefed up security in and around the venue of the parade, the Eagle Square, Abuja.
It said from midnight of Wednesday, Sept. 30, all routes leading to the Eagle Square will be closed while Shehu Shagari Way, Ahmadu Bello Way, outward and inward-bound Airport roads and adjoining roads will also be closed to traffic.

Inter-Ministerial Committee on Nigeria @ 60 Independence Anniversary announced the measures in a statement emailed to Persecondnews.
He said all workers at the Federal Secretariat Complex will be “evacuated’’ by 2.00 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
“All workers within the precincts of the Eagle Square are expected to vacate their offices as from 2.00 pm that day.’’
