With effect from July 1, the Federal Government has lifted the interstate travel ban it slammed on the nation three months ago.
Similarly, the government has ordered the reopening of schools for some categories of students.
The announcement followed President Buhari’s approval of the recommendations of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 chaired by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha.
The PTF said only graduating classes; Primary 6, JS3 and SS3 would resume to enable them to prepare for their exams.
Also, the airports are set to reopen for domestic flights “as soon as practicable.”
However, all daycare and primary schools are to remain closed until further evaluation, except for Common Entrance pupils.
“Secondary and Tertiary Schools to remain closed. Arrangements to be made for exiting JS3 and SS3 students to resume as soon as possible for preparation for exams.
“Interstate Lockdown lifted with effect from July 1, 2020. Only outside curfew hours,” the government said.
