The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Kano State chapter, has praised the NNPC for ensuring the success of ‘operation white’ project launched by the Federal Government in 2019.

“The initiative has helped curtail the smuggling of petroleum products and reduced imported consumption figures,” chairman of IPMAN, Alhaji Bashir Dan-Malam said.

According to Dan-malam,  operation white had addressed the seemingly intractable issue of fuel scarcity, especially during the Yuletide season.

He attributed the success of the project to the leadership qualities and doggedness of the managing director of PPMC, Alhaji Bala Wunti.

The IPMAN chairman noted that Wunti was always in close contact with marketers since the operation white was introduced last year in order to ensure its success.

‘Operation White’ is a presidential-mandated collaborative initiative driven by NNPC with the active participation of regulatory and security agencies as well as other stakeholders in ensuring that all molecules of regulated petroleum products imported by NNPC are well accounted for and utilised in the country.

The GMD of the NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari inaugurated 89-man task team to drive the ‘Operation White Project in entrenching transparency and accountability in all operations.
