Despite facing a political opposition party bent on going to court to challenge his victory at the polls, Dr. Kayode Fayemi  is doubling up efforts to probe the administration of Gov Ayo Fayose.

The governor-elect Thursday pledged to probe the financial activities of the CURRENT government.

He explained that the essence of looking into the financial records of the state was primarily to also find out why the Ayo Fayose led government was unable to pay salaries to workers.

“What was received in Ekiti State and the expenditures in that period, why were we not able to pay salaries in the state. These issues should be examined in the interest of good governance.

“It is not about probing Fayose, probing Eleka etc, it is about not repeating the mistakes of the past and giving our people good government. So, we will also involve in looking at what transpired in the last four years.”

Governor Ayodele Fayose will spend many years in jail after leaving office in October, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, said in a report published by Vanguard Newspapers on April 15, 2018.

Fayose, he stated, will be made to account for the gross mismanagement of the state’s resources and allocation in the last four years.
