WhatsApp starts labelling forwarded messages to Combat Misinformation

808

After a long time, whatsapp has released a new feature ‘ forwarded ’ label on forward messages.

Some couple of months ago WhatsApp released a new version with ‘ delete for everyone ’ feature which is so cool and useful to everybody, people appreciated it.

Now this time they have released some more interesting feature.

So, What is the feature?

Everybody appreciates you, when you send a message to him/her or after sending a good joke to a friend. However, you will forward the forwarded messages to your group or you too.

After placing the forward message on the next group, it will be labeled “Forwarded” with the same message as it will go forward.

If you type message, after sending it then it will not be labeled forwarded, but the third person. It will show immediately on the sent message photo/sms has forwarded. You can not remove the label.

This step has been taken to prevent the spreading of fake news.

If you send a fake news message to anyone of your friends, then it is clear that someone has forwarded the news to you.

To get this feature In Android  you need to update Whatsapp Beta version 2.18.179 update.
