Award-winning Nollywood star Kehinde Bankole has issued a passionate plea to the Federal Government, calling for immediate and decisive measures to combat the nation’s rising insecurity.

She emphasized that all Nigerians have a fundamental right to live their lives free from fear.

The actress expressed deep concern over the rising cases of kidnappings and violent attacks, stressing that the protection of citizens should remain the government’s highest priority.

Reacting through a social media post sighted by Persecondnews, Bankole said the country had reached a point where excuses were no longer acceptable as innocent lives continued to be lost.

She lamented that children were now being forced to flee for safety, describing the situation as heartbreaking and unacceptable.

“Lives are being lost! This should not be our new normal, children running for their lives in 2026! Oh God,” she wrote.

Bankole also dismissed attempts to politicise the security crisis, saying that regardless of the reasons behind the attacks, the focus should be on protecting Nigerians.

She stated: “Even if the kidnappings are a smear campaign on the government, it should be all the more reason for the Office of the National Security Advisor, along with the Presidency, to tackle insecurity with full wrath and force.”

The actress urged the Presidency and relevant security agencies to intensify intelligence gathering and ensure those responsible for the attacks were identified and brought to justice.

“Find a way. No bigger political campaign. Tactically flush out their ‘saboteurs’ if that exists. That should be the focus now.”

She further insisted that agencies including the National Intelligence Agency, the Department of State Services, the Ministry of Defence and other security institutions must be made to work together more effectively.

According to Bankole, Nigerians have grown weary of repeated messages of sympathy after every tragedy and now expect concrete results from those in authority.

“Enough is enough. The people are tired of condolence speeches and need only bigger action,” she declared.

She said what Nigerians wanted was swift, practical and measurable action capable of restoring confidence in the nation’s security architecture.
