Bode Ojajuni Returns to Ogun Command As Police Commissioner

1. Ondo State-born CP Ojajuni joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 1996.

2. He is widely recognized in Nigeria for his long-standing career in law enforcement, particularly for his roles in public relations and international policing.

3. He was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police in March 2025.

4. He had recently served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of the State CID in Ogun State.

Ojajuni’s educational qualifications include ​Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History Education from Ondo State University, Ado Ekiti (now Ekiti State University), Class of 1993, Master’s degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies from Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Bachelor of Laws (LL.B): National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and he is currently a ​Doctoral Candidate (Ph.D.):

6. The CP boasts of professional profile and disstinctions; had a stint as the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Lagos (2005–2007), where he was credited with establishing the first Human Rights Desk and Human Rights Resource Centre for the command.

7. Secretary, State Police Implementation Committee: In March 2026, he was appointed as the Secretary of an eight-member steering committee inaugurated by Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tunji Disu. This committee is tasked with designing the operational framework for the establishment of state police in Nigeria.

8. INTERPOL Africa Committee Member: In August 2025, he was elected to the INTERPOL Africa Committee during the 27th African Regional Conference in Cape Town, South Africa. This role involves advising on strategic crime priorities and strengthening cross-border police cooperation across the continent.

9. He has held several critical positions, including Area Commander for Area ‘A’ Lion Building, Lagos.

10. Squadron Commander for various Police Mobile Force (PMF) units in Lagos, Delta, and Ogun States.

11. Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector-General of Police (2017–2019).

12.Ojajuni was named “Area Commander of the Year” in 2021 and received the “Outstanding African Nations Builder’s Gold Award” in Ghana.
