Nigerian marksman Paul Onuachu proved the difference once again as Trabzonspor claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Gaziantep in their Turkish Super Lig fixture on Sunday.

The tall forward has now hit the target in six successive outings for the Black Sea club, underlining his red-hot form.

Hosts Gaziantep broke the deadlock early when Mohamed Bayo found the net in the 22nd minute.

Trabzonspor hit back almost instantly, with Felipe Augusto restoring parity just two minutes later in the 24th minute.

Onuachu then produced the decisive strike in the 27th minute, registering his 35th goal overall for Trabzonspor since joining the club.

The 31-year-old striker has enjoyed a superb campaign, netting 17 times in only 18 appearances across all competitions for Fatih Tekke’s men.

With the three points safely secured, Trabzonspor remain firmly in third position on the league table, boasting a total of 48 points.
